Band of the Day - Week 37

Endless supply of bands to stumble upon. This week was a trip…if only it was a real one…coast to coast in the US, to France and Norway. Go find something new to listen to on repeat like I am.

If this is your first time here, I’m the worst music reviewer.

Don’t forget to show these bands some love…follow the socials, buy the music/merch, etc.

P.S. Protect trans lives. Say gay everyday. We can’t and won’t be erased. Be a safe space for your local and not so local queers to land. We see you. We are here for you. We love you.

P.P.S. Safe abortion for all. No compromise. No Apology.

Here’s the recap of new (to us) bands we listened to last week (9/12 – 9/18).

xoxo Jaclyn

Week 37

09/12: Panic Problem
I checked out the full length from 2020, Just Calm Down. Fast, fun, poppy bops? East Coast punk jams? Reminds me of a super fun ‘local show’. You know, where everyone (including the bands) know each other. It’s a good time. Favorite Track: Work Sucks in General (I concur…) or Dead and Gone

09/13: Sweat
News music Tuesday? I checked out the the new album, Gotta Give It Up. Rips from start to finish. Well done. Favorite Track: Poor Execution (or all of them)

09/14: Still Shaking
I checked out the 2021 album, Relax Friends. I knew I’d like it from the moment I hit play. I listened twice. Well done. Gave me Smoke or Fire vibes, and I love Smoke or Fire. Favorite Track: Anxious and Airwaves (or all of them)

09/15: Piqued
I listened to the 2021 EP, Out From Under. A bop of an opener to kick this thing off. It’s got emo, indie, nod to punk with a soft side vibes. (I really appreciate the drums). Favorite Track: Closure

09/16: Call It A Day
New music Friday! I started with their half of the new split with Bring on the Storm, Through the Distance. Melodic, political, skatepunk = my cup of tea. You know you’ll love it as soon as you hit play. Well done. Favorite Track: The Taste of Change

09/17: Royal Dog
New music Saturday? I checked out the new EP, Shithole Country. A three song bop. You’ll wish it was longer. Also, not many bands can pull of a song like Aurora, so well done. Favorite Track: Aurora (the whole thing)

09/18: The Killakee House
I listened to the 2021 EP, Without Wax. Catchy jams all the way through. Well done. Hope we get to hear more from y’all, soon? Favorite Track: Railbird
