Band of the Day - Week 40

This week’s selections do a great job at explaining why an umbrella is a great analogy for music genres? Found some cool stuff and new favorites for sure. Go find something new to listen to on repeat like I am.

If this is your first time here, I’m the worst music reviewer.

Don’t forget to show these bands some love…follow the socials, buy the music/merch, etc.

P.S. Protect trans lives. Say gay everyday. We can’t and won’t be erased. Be a safe space for your local and not so local queers to land. We see you. We are here for you. We love you.

P.P.S. Safe abortion for all. No compromise. No Apology.

Here’s the recap of new (to us) bands we listened to last week (10/03 – 10/09).

xoxo Jaclyn

Week 40

10/03: LONE WOLF
I checked out the 2019 (Together Alone) and 2018 (self-titled) albums and loved them both. Favorite Track: I went with the title track from Together Alone

10/04: Present
New music Tuesday? I checked out the new EP, I Want. It’s got 90s vibes, so grab your flannel and cozy up. Favorite Track: New

10/05: Overo
New music Wednesday? I checked out the new full length, Waiting for the End to Begin and the 2019 self-titled. I can’t believe I’ve never heard this band before. Don’t be like me. Go listen now and later and then again. Well done. Favorite Track: Dumpster Full of Glass

10/06: Fox Lake
New music Thursday? I listened to the new full length, Repose. If you’re like me, you will push play and know you will probably listen at least twice. Math(y), Emo(y) jams! Well done. Favorite Track: In Fading

10/07: Arms Like Roses
New music Friday! I listened to the new full length, Blooming. It’s noodle(y) emo with a dark side? Is that a genre? Cool stuff. I appreciate the closing track. Favorite Track: I Made You a Mixtape (Because I Hate Your Fucking Guts)

10/08: All Honesty
New music Saturday? I checked out the new EP, Everyone You’ve Ever Known. It’s rip roaring, bop-tastic pop-punk. Favorite Track: TBC

10/09: Bornside
New music Sunday? I listened to the new EP, Light Rain & Dick Moves. It’s fast, gritty pop-punk with the ever so slight and tastefully done nod to the hardcore kids. You’ll like it. Well done. Favorite Track: Taking The Hood (or all of them)
