#BOTD 2022 – Week 46

Monday, November 21st, 2022

I wish this was a travel blog. Instead of listening to a record, I would travel the world checking out a show and hanging with the bands. Maybe next year? Go find something new to listen to on repeat like I am.

If this is your first time here, I’m the worst music reviewer.

Don’t forget to show these bands some love…follow the socials, buy the music/merch, etc.

P.S. Protect trans lives. Say gay everyday. We can’t and won’t be erased. Be a safe space for your local and not so local queers to land. We see you. We are here for you. We love you.

P.P.S. Safe abortion for all. No compromise. No Apology.

Here’s the recap of new (to us) bands we listened to last week (11/14 – 11/20).

xoxo Jaclyn

Week 46

11/14: Tired Radio
I feel like this can’t be the first time I’ve heard this band, but I’m old and my memory is less than great. I listened to the 2020 release, Patterns and the new single, Lousy, Thanks. Fuzzy, sing-a-long sad punk. Favorite Track: Send for a Hospital

11/15: Flight Mode
New music Tuesday? I checked out the new EP, Torshov, ’05 and the 2021 EP, TX, ’98. Is ‘dreamo’ a genre? Perfectly placed big moments. I really enjoyed both EPs. Favorite Track: Dö Yoü Rëmëmbër

11/16: Overthinker
I started with the self-titled EP from 2019, and then checked out some of the new singles. It’s pop punk that seems to get poppier with age. Favorite Track: New Stranger

11/17: Occupants
New music Thursday? I checked out the new EP, Serpent Shine. It rips. If this was an award show, this EP would win the “most unique sound of the week” award. Sounds like a super fun show. Favorite Track: Serpent Shine

11/18: Captain Asshole
New music Friday! I checked out the new full length Successfully Not Giving Up. It’s arm over your friends shoulder, shout along punk rock. You’ll like it. Favorite Track: Apocalypse Whenever

11/19: Gut Health
New music Saturday? I listened to the new EP, Electric Party Chrome Girl. If this was an award show, this EP would win the “I dare you not to dance” award. Art punk, no wave, fun. Favorite Track: Going Postal

11/20: Punitive Damage
New music Sunday? I listened to the new full length, This is the Blackout. It rips. Well done. Favorite Track: Nothing
