#BOTD 2022 – Week 47

Monday, November 28th, 2022

If this was a hike, our trail goes through the Midwest. We get airlifted out for a quick trip to New Jersey and Australia. Music knows no borders. Go find something new to listen to on repeat like I am.

If this is your first time here, I’m the worst music reviewer.

Don’t forget to show these bands some love…follow the socials, buy the music/merch, etc.

P.S. Protect trans lives. Say gay everyday. We can’t and won’t be erased. Be a safe space for your local and not so local queers to land. We see you. We are here for you. We love you.

P.P.S. Safe abortion for all. No compromise. No Apology.

Here’s the recap of new (to us) bands we listened to last week (11/21 – 11/27).

xoxo Jaclyn

Week 47

11/21: Real Tree
I’m sorry I didn’t find you sooner! I listened to the 2018 release, Whatever Makes Being Together Feel Good. Super fun. Well done. Favorite Track: Send for a Hospital

11/22: TRSH
New music Tuesday? I checked out the new full length, Soporific and the old full length, Kiss Me. Did y’all really release two ripping records in a single year? To quote the band, “Midwest emo from the Midwest”. Well done. Favorite Track: Midwest City

11/23: Loyalty to Me
I started with the 2020 EP, Clash // Coexist and then checked out the new singles. Think early 00’s emo/pop punk? What’s coming next? Favorite Track: Nuisance

11/24: The Comfort
New music Thursday? I checked out the new full length, Experience Everything. Live And Die.. Emo-y post-rock. This thing is a journey. Well done. Favorite Track: Love Is A Dying Plant (or Grace)

11/25: Knavery
New music Friday! I checked out the new full length Control. If this was a game of hide and seek, I’m glad I finally found you! Well done. Favorite Track: Mood (but I had a really hard time picking a favorite).

11/26: Cold Streets
I listened to the 2021 EP, Who Cares and the new single. It sounds like a fun show. It’s fast. It’s fun. It’s punk. Favorite Track: Why Not

11/27: Old News
I listened to the full length from 2021, Self-Acceptance Speech. Great title. It’s math(y) emo, with the occasional horn. So it’s ska? j/k. Favorite Track: Pulling Teeth
