#BOTD 2022 – Week 51

Tuesday, December 27th, 2022

And on the 51st week of 2022, I unintentionally listened almost exclusively to EPs. The exception was the banger of a full length that fell in my lap on Sunday. Go find something new to listen to on repeat like I am.

If this is your first time here, I’m the worst music reviewer.

Don’t forget to show these bands some love…follow the socials, buy the music/merch, etc.

P.S. Protect trans lives. Say gay everyday. We can’t and won’t be erased. Be a safe space for your local and not so local queers to land. We see you. We are here for you. We love you.

P.P.S. Safe abortion for all. No compromise. No Apology.

Here’s the recap of new (to us) bands we listened to last week (12/19 – 12/25).

xoxo Jaclyn

Week 51

12/19: Coffee Talk
I started with the self-titled EP from 2020 and then checked out the new single. Dogs and weekends are two things we both have in common. Fast, melodic pop punk. The new single has me ready for what comes next! Favorite Track: Clean Slate

12/20: Totally Cashed
New music Tuesday? I checked out the new EP, Totally Totally Cashed Cashed. Being that y’all are from Chicago, I have questions about the bagels. It’s 70s/80s punk rock vibes. Fun little EP. Favorite Track: Sport Drink

12/21: Fair Do’s
New music Wednesday? I listened to the new EP, 1000 Miles. Rip-roaring melodic hardcore. Well done. Favorite Track: 1000 Miles

12/22: Have Near
New music Thursday? I listened to the new EP, Nature//Nurture. It’s like a hammock hang in the middle of winter. It’s a vibe. Dreampop/shoegaze/emo, post something. Favorite Track: Daydreaming

12/23: Lost Like Lions
New music Friday! I listened to the new EP, Fear of Letting Go. Pop punk-ish with some emo vibes? Favorite Track: Back to Life

12/24: Autumn Fires
New music Saturday? I listened to new EP, Sunnyside. It’s extra pop punk. Favorite Track: Sunnyside

12/25: Other Half
New music Sunday? I listened to the new full length, Soft Action. File under rip-roaring noise punk/hardcore. Push play and see if you can look away. Favorite Track: Slab Thick or Grisly Visions or Losing the Whip…or all of them.
